Our Curriculum integrates a deliberate character-building framework connecting physical challenge to classical virtues.

We employ character-building tools used by the U.S. military and first responders to teach leadership, teambuilding, and innumerable other classic American virtues. Strong and virtuous people make a healthy society and are physically able to be of service to their families, neighbors, and communities.

TACTICAL DECISION GAMES

Our curriculum leverages the proven value of Tactical Decision Games to teach and train essential American values.

Leadership reaction courses

Places students in time-constrained physical scenarios requiring them to exercise initiative and judgement.

TIE-INS

A focused brief on an essential virtue or character trait while students are still sweating from the challenge.

Our curriculum uses objective measures of fitness, called benchmarks to track the progress of students and to encourage their development.  It also includes a level-up system that creates a strong incentive to achieve more.  Our Fitness Tracker App provides teachers with the ability to record student performance, provide feedback, and measure progress toward goals. We are unapologetic about striving for high levels of fitness and in seeking to develop young men and women of high moral character.

Hear from those doing it

“The Iliad Athletics approach to physical education is a long-overdue development in modern schooling. Their philosophy offers educators the opportunity to elevate PE from mere recreation to a transcendent and lasting pursuit. Iliad transforms physical education from a ‘box-checking’ exercise into a foundational pillar of student formation. I could not be more excited about how Iliad Athletics is changing the conversation around physical education for today’s students. The aim of their philosophy and curriculum gets at exactly what we are about: the formation of the whole person.”

Keith Nix

Head of School at Veritas School - Richmond, VA

“On an objective basis, Iliad Athletics provides students with the opportunity to build strength, speed, teamwork and confidence through structured functional training and competitive experiences, helping them grow not only in PE but as a person. Subjectively, we have truly loved the challenge Iliad Athletics has provided our students. The curriculum creates meaningful opportunities for them to struggle, persevere, and overcome. Watching them push through difficult moments, do hard things, and grow in both confidence and character has been rewarding; we can see the students coming out stronger on the other side! This has such has positive implications for the classroom, as well.”

Matt Beatty

Head of School, Bloomfield Christian School - Bloomfield Township, MI

Would I recommend Iliad Athletics to other schools? Yes, wholeheartedly! Schools are searching for quality programs which strengthen the body, mind, and heart of their students. Iliad does all three and provides a plan teachers can follow and adapt accordingly for their student community.

Headmaster at Our Savior Lutheran School – Grand Rapids, MI

The Iliad athletics program has been a wonderful addition to our school. Our scholars are stronger, faster, and more flexible than the beginning of the school year. I have never seen so much growth happen so quickly. During our gymnastics unit, I looked around my 3rd grade class to see all of them touching their toes, in the beginning of the year 5 out of 16 scholars could reach their toes in that class. I am thrilled to see what else our scholars accomplish!

Nicole Castellano

PE Teacher at Seacoast Classical Academy – Newton, NH

This was the program that I had been looking for, a program that encourages students to be well rounded in their physical education, have a love for nature, use the outdoors as their life-long playground, and encourages striving to always do one's best.

PE Teacher at Oakdale Academy – Waterford, MI
